My birthday is the 30th day of September. Well, for my first birthday party I was excited. I was turning one year old. During my party I actually was enjoying myself. Then my mother became sick. Of course I didn’t know what was going on; I was only one.
My mother started screaming and hollering for no apparent reason. I’m sure someone knew what was wrong with her. Suddenly, there was a huge pile of water on the floor. “Oh gosh! My mother drank too much water!”
We had to rush to the hospital so the doctors could fix my mother. When she went back there she was still screaming to the top of her lungs. I actually heard her in the waiting room. When I was allowed to go back there, I was shocked as can be.
They gave my mother another baby! It was a girl and she was crying for no reason. “Why did they give my mother a new baby? She already has me!” Then they say she is my sister. Now I have a sister born on the same day as me. This was officially the worst day ever. I couldn’t even have a descent first birthday party. To this day I will forever be upset.

What We Learned
Being young means that you are naïve about things that go on.
Being a young person means learning to be independent.
We are humans, we have feelings, and we do want to achieve great things. We just need more activities.
The most valuable lesson I have learned while at MASE is to stay out of drama and keep to yourself.
People respond to kindness.
Black church shoes are the worst fashion trend at MASE.
My favorite places in Memphis are the Stax Museum and the Pink Palace.
I will remember getting my class ring!

I am a regular prissy young lady. I look at myself as a regular teenage girl with many likes and dislike, do’s and don’ts, and friends and enemies. I have favorite fast food restaurants, hobbies, and stores. I also have least favorites of the three. The question you may be thing is: Is she a regular teenager?
Maybe I should explain to you my favorite fast food restaurants. Well I absolutely love Pizza Hut and Checker (used to be called Rally’s). If I could, I would eat there every day. My other favorite restaurants are Papa John’s, Krystal’s, and Burger King. I wouldn’t eat there as much as my most favorites.
The restaurant that I hate the most is Captain D’s I don’t really know why, but it could be because I do not eat seafood. Furthermore, my other least favorite restaurants are McDonalds, Wendy’s, Sonic, and Piccadilly. For some reason my younger sister wants to eat Sonic every day. Why? It gets annoying and disgusting after awhile. Then, McDonalds is just nasty anyway; it’s like school food or even worse.

Self Interview
1. What is your living situation?
My household contains four people, me, my mother and my two younger sisters. We recently moved into this three bedroom house. Unfortunately, my room is the smallest, but I do have my own room. Unlike myself, my sisters have to share a room. We love our new house and hope it brings joy to our family.
2. What are the particular challenges of your life?
My challenge is dealing with my sister. She is very ill, mostly in the head. She has temper-tantrums, bipolar issues, and more. Currently, she is on medication. She also have a in- home counselor. My mother saays I have to deal with her until she gets better. This is a very difficult challenge for me.
3. What is your favorite family activity?
My favorite family activity is vacation. I love those times. Mostly, because I love being around my mother. She's like my big twin sister. Anyway, we would go out of town to a water park and more. We actually spend time together; because when we are home, we barely even see each other. I am always up for a vacation with the family.
